Default Comptech kit idling lean when hot

I recently had my comptech kit installed and tuned. All seemed well until the weather started getting hotter. the car runs fine but my A/f gauge is all over the place once the car gets hot. If I drive the car on the freeway on a 90 degree day with ther a/c on my temp gauge will go to half way (10 bars) once I turn the a/c off it will go back down to 8 bars. A/F will be at around 15/1 cruising and it is also fine hitting boost. When the problem starts is when I turn the car off and let it sit for awhile, when I go back and start it up I will be idling between 16/5 and 17/5. I am completely stumped and my tuner seems to say its ok. Here are my specs on the car

2005 AP2 Stock motor
Stock cooling system
Comptech Novi 1000 3" Pulley
Custom front mount intercooler with 3' piping
AEM EMS series 2
id1000 injectors
Hondata 4 bar map sensor
AEM Wideband (just ordered a new 02 today hoping its the issue?)

Heat soak, exacerbated by the air-to-air intercooler. You have no cooling of your intake charge while stopped, and your intake temps are skyrocketing. Are you utilizing the CAI that comes with the kit? That would definitely help if you aren't.

As in cold air intake are you referring to the cf box? If so that would not be possible because my ic piping runs through where that box would be mounted.

LOL @ urban dk, where would all the piping go with that giant box in there????

yes, you are getting into a fuel trim map of the ecu for high intake temps from the AIT sensor getting heatsoaked.

this is the plague of SC'd s2000s.

I haven't seen his set-up, maybe he figured out a way to shoehorn it in there?

But yeah, it's IAT related. FMIC exacerbates the problem since a W2W intercooler would still provide some cooling while stopped.

Correct me if I'm wrong but as air temps rise oxygen decreases in turn would cause a rich condition?

^yes, but if it is heatsoaking the air intake temp sensor, there is a fuel trim related that in the ecu that will need to be adjusted. its getting past the safe limit and the trimming is causing it to go lean. trust me. i live in fl, just started getting some hot and muggy weather, and ran into this about 2 weeks ago with my stage 2 sos kit and aems2. adjusted the point at which the correction starts to come into play and also adjusted the trim, no more drama. ;-)
