I saw a dyno of the greddy turbo kit and decided to make an overlay of my stock comptech dyno. Dynos are both done on dyno dynamics dynamomator, but on different dynos, different days, thousands of miles apart. Obviously it's not a perfect model but I thought some of you would appreciate it so I figured I'd post.... Looks like the turbo dominates down low, but the supercharger eeks out the hp and tq advantage in VTEC.
Seemed to make sense to me. Superchargers don't really start to make any significant power until the upper end of the powerband. Turbos really help out with low end power. The big shocker to me was seeing the Comptech car making more torque once both cars got into the powerband.
what mods does each car have? both ap1s? the turbo isn't running out of steam, its just fighting to breath more on top end. The cat really restricts it. I'm interested to know more about the SC car, since i already know/read about the turbo guy's dyno in that looong thread.
My ap2 w/ the greddy kit made 286.44 rwhp and 197.82 ft/lbs on about 8psi and 299.80 rwhp 227.83ft/lbs on 10 psi. stock engine/cat, just 80mm exhaust.
The supercharged car is a stock comptech kit w/ aftercooler, at 5psi. No EMS or tuning at all, just the Comptech FPR. It's running a Comptech exhaust with the stock cat. The car is a 2001, with 74,000 miles on it. Dyno was done April 28th in south florida, typical humid, mid to high 80's kinda day. I was really happy with the numbers, I was expecting 280-290hp. A buddy with the same setup on the same dyno put down 287.

So in conclusion, Comptech SC > Greddy Turbo?
Who cares about the power below 6k? With a car that has a 9k rpm redline, when driving in a sprited manner, there should be no reason to be below 6k.
In defense of the greddy kit (b/c im sure the comptech is a good kit), yeah you'll be above 6krpm if you are racing....but i hardly go over 6k daily driving my S.--especially with the increase in torque, i hardly have to rev the car to get it going (well at least on my ap2). The difference is the torque...the S lacks it immensely, and the turbo kit takes care of that problem. I plan to track my car a few days out of the year, daily drive the rest....i'll gladly take the low end power over the high end power since i daily drive it 99% of the time...but then again i don't have worry about the lack of high end power with a boost controller!
