So in conclusion, Comptech SC > Greddy Turbo?

Who cares about the power below 6k? With a car that has a 9k rpm redline, when driving in a sprited manner, there should be no reason to be below 6k.

Nice overlay scott. I am very happy with my SC, but I have thought about turbo.

I also would have expected it to be the other way the entire power band. Not surprised to see the turbo out front down low.

I would actually prefer having both lower-end TQ and some power up top:

This is my car with an eaton MP62 at 6 psi and a "not so good" tune. Should be adding about 2 PSI with a good tune as soon as the day-time temps drop below 100F.

Actually, despite the supercharger making more top end power, which is because it's a centrifugal blower and not a roots type, the area under the curve really seems to heavily favor the greddy kit over the comptech. Overall power improvement, especially the torque improvement in the lower parts of the powerband, should make driving the car better in most situations, even in some race situtations like autocross.

The ultimate questions here are how smooth the car is under part-throttle and every day transitions, if there are any cold-start or detonation issues, and what the effect is on the longevity of the engine with either option. I like that the supercharger makes the power with a lower boost level, maybe that's less stressful on the engine?

Hey wlaurent, how did you get an eaton blower onto an s2k? Is that a custom kit, or is somebody out there making one?

nice comparison but i don't think i'd buy either though. imo you can put together a turbo setup for less $ than buying a kit if you shop around a little. i'll fab my own turbo setup with a gt35r and make more power than both those setups for less $. my last setup was a t3/t04e making 280whp@8psi on a B17.

Correct - it is the BRP/SOT kit. It was the first BETA kit installed, there is one other kit running and 2 more should be running by months end (total of 4).

Here is a pic of the install for those that did not see previous posted pics.

to me, i think the greddy is the better kit for myself. i would take the massive amount of more low end torque and the slightly less amount of top end horsepower, especially on stock gearing. that just my opinion. im just waiting for the greddy kit to surface in the for sale forum when someone wants to upgrade to inlinePro.
