i'd think a carb number is a carb number regardless of which is more current. your smog issues aren't about pollution are they? are you a green party tree hugger?

really? is that what the CALIFORNIA air resources board for? i never would've guessed. thanks for the info.

the carb number itself, whether an ap1 or ap2, in itself doesn't affect smog, it's a number. that number is only good for a visual check not a sniffer check. if you want to pass the smog test then just yank off the supercharger belt and ensure you have a cat installed (not a testpipe).

Actually i believe that if and when i do get a somg all the carb info needs to be there and it needs to match the year of the car.

Nice sarcasm buddy. dagle was saying that carb number for different kits matter here in California. You might not be able to pass visual with a kit from a different year because it will not match if the smogger looks it up. Some smog places here won't even touch your car if it has a supercharger on it, while others are extremely anal about all the parts installed.

If possible, try to go to the ghetto part of town to get it smogged. They likely don't care much about the visual. They just want you to pass so they get the money.
