Comptect S/c
This is old school tuning, look a few threads down, you will find a guy with over a hundred thousand reliably boosted miles and over 160000 total. The fpr follows your factory base map, it just bumps up the baseline pressure and adds a little extra for every pound of boost.
You should have kept your 05 and boosted that.... the 06 kit is looking a long ways away.... but who knows.. Comptech may be able to resolve all the 06 issues sooner than we think.
Why would you spend a few grand on a s/c and want to keep your stock exhaust? The HKS does not sound ricey at all, if that's what you're concerned about. I don't know much about F/I, but 5K miles seems too soon to add a s/c. I could be wrong though.
[QUOTE=bs2k,Mar 13 2006, 10:33 AM]Then thats bad news, plus i dont understand all this "the FPR is rising rate" and all. I wana go all stock. Stock exhaust, stock everything. How well will the s/c work with hp and lasting. Its a 2006 with 700miles, and i plan on putting a s/c by 5k miles.

I read somewhere if u got a comptect s/c you dont need to get any ecu or injectors or anything else. Kit comes with everything. what does the kit come with. How much does it cost. How many hp gains will i get with the kit itself. And how safe is it and how much life does it kill from the car stock. Also what can u campair the car with (as in speed). Thx.

What you read is correct. The Comptech SC doesn't require anything that doesn't come with the kit. It is a simple bolt-on-and-go proposition.
You can find detailed info on what the kit contains on the Comptech Web site but the major components include the following:
Novi 1000 Supercharger
Comptech SC mounting bracket
VTEC block to supply oil to the SC
FPR (fuel pressure regulator)
Fuel pump
Airbox and Airfilter
ESM (electronic signal modifier)
Hoses, banjo fittings, and drive belt.
Assorted nuts, bolts, grommets, wire-ties, etc.
If you get the AC you also get:
Aftercooler
Radiator
Water pump and mounting bracket
Water hoses, nuts, bolts, grommets, and wire ties, etc.
I've probably overlooked a few things, but rest assured that the kit you receive will have everything you need, except of course for tools and time.

Even at peak power the Comptech only delivers a mild boost, and there is almost no boost below 6000 RPM, so in normal driving there is little or no increase in wear and tear on the car. Every full bore charge to redline involves a few seconds of slightly increased stress, but the F20C is a bit of an unknown. In theory at least, the impact on reliability should be minimal.
I have issues when it comes to comparing the S2000 to other cars, but with the SC the car will pull redline in sixth, which works out to about 166 MPH. Faster than a Civic but slower than an Enzo. A good driver can run low 13's in the quarter. Quicker than a Civic but not as quick as an Enzo.
In its element, which is not top speed or straight-line acceleration, the SCed S2000 is impressive. On drives like the Dragon the car can be kept constantly in VTEC, and has more power than you can put to the ground most of the time. Even a stock S2000 eats up that kind of road, but the SC makes the car come off the corners harder and squirt down the short straights faster. You still won't be able to hang with a good driver in an Elise, but if you're fairly good yourself you won't find many people/car combinations that can pull you on a twisty mountain road. Usually even if the car is a little faster or quicker the advantage is lost because of the short straights and tight turns (which is what the S2000 seems to do best, stock or SCed).Below 6k, around town, SC doesn't change the car enough to even discuss, but when you keep the car working in the narrow powerband it's impressive, especially in the first five gears. The top of fifth comes up at close to 140, and it takes a while to get from there to redline in sixth (I haven't done it yet, but it's clear from the pull after the shift into sixth that 166 isn't going to come up quickly, and you're already eating up the available road at a rapid pace.).
You might also want to consider getting a Modifry sequential shift beeper. Install it when you install the SC and it will save you from banging the rev limiter accidently while you adjust to the new rates of acceleration.

I did 13.1 on 5.5 psi and hks exhaust, stock clutch and everything else.
12.7 on 6.6 and injectors tuned with vafc and the comptech clutch upgrade.
I think you will be most happy with that setup for a while, i personaly didn't really feel much difference just on stock boost. Go for the 7psi and you will be satisfied. This is what you need since you got the 06:
RC 550 injectors (high impedence)
VAFC 1 or 2
comptech flywheel and ACT pressure plate
straight pipe
It sounded sick with HKS exhaust and Greddy BOV. video

yo RED MX5, thx a lot for spendin the time to answer my questions. I want one on my 06 so i guess i gota wait. I want to go all stock other then a S/c cuz i dont want no more bullshit tickets for being to loud or its not legal and all that shit. I just want to have some more punch when i step on it.
. MOre info would be great by anyone else, and even better "videos"
