looks like the bad U joint that broke off caused the case to crack. THANKS A LOT DSS FOR YOUR POS SHAFT

Looks like the universal joint just popped apart... expected to see something (joint) ripped open.

Are you thinking the case cracked when the universal joint was 'jammed up'? Did the diff pull away/move towards the rear?

That's *very* scary- car could have easily flipped over...at 125mph.
Every part to adapt the getrag trans to this car has the possibility of misalignment. The trans adapter, rear mount and propshaft.

i dont knowm if its me but i think your drive shaft is installed on the wrong side. Mine has the slotted shaft on the tranny side not on the diff side or maybe mine is not on the right side. loll

No transmission is "bulletproof ", some just stronger then others in this case its not the trans or the adapters that failed its the u-joint that failed.a chain is only as strong as the weakest link that link being the u-joint in this case, there are many v160 conversions getting beat a lot harder then this with no issues, mine worked great till I missed 3rd at 9000rpm was not the trans fault I toasted the syncro it was mine for noob shifting it early nothing you can do about it in that situation
