Cross bar by the diff
Strength is NOT the same as stiffness, that bar looks like it's keeping the rear toe changes in check, and possibly reducing the chance of metal fatigue cracking the welds further down.
It could be made of tinfoil so long as the stiffness was there, don't dismiss it just because the metal is thin - it could easily be increasing the local stiffness by an order of magnitude.

I would keep it. While its thin looking at it from your vantage point, it's much stronger from a lateral perspective. It connects both sides of the suspension from below the differential, which sees quite a bit of load, especially with boost.
