Default CT SC, only 302 whp. Need advice

What's up fellas. My 05 AP2 already had the CT SC installed when I bought it and was running on stock ECU, so I decided to get it dynotuned for safety and little more power. I added in ID 1050cc injectors, AEM 320lph pump, AEM FPR, Omni Power 3 Bar MAP sensor, Invidia 70mm test pipe, managed with an AEM Series 2 EMS (92 OCT).

Sadly, I only made 302 WHP. I was hoping for quite a bit more. However, I'm still running on the CT supplied pulley and heat exchanger. I'm planning on going with a smaller pulley and bigger heat exchanger from SOS. Is there anything else I should do? Perhaps preventive maintenance wise? Not sure if getting a Cometic headgasket and ARP headstuds would be necessary or overkill. Thanks for the help in advance!

That's good power for the stock pulley. Not sure what you were told/or expecting. You can get a more refined fuel tune with the EMS assuming you get a good tune, but since the stage 1 system still utilizes the factory ecu/timing advance, you wont typically gain any peak power from moving to a full ems at the same boost pressure, but generally will yield a better fine tune in the lower/mid range from better fuel and vtec control.

A large racing heat exchanger is a good idea when moving up in the higher boost levels.

You definitely do not want to crack that motor open for the sake of HG or head studs, its just not needed at the typical high boost levels (15-16psi) achieved with a super charger, and you can actually compromise reliability with some of those after market thicker HG and screw up your cylinder quench. Thicker HG is a patch job and is old school thinking at this point which we proved isn't needed anyway. I have 92oct here in WA and would have no problem tuning for 15-16psi/425whp which is close to maxing out a 1220/1200 novi. In the past I have also run water/meth injection for added safety and performance, primarily not to run more boost or aggressive timing, but to lower IAT which I am a big proponent of. The residual/added benefit of this is safety in detonation suppressant of course. If you want to just go for it and max out the blower on 92, you should go with a water/meth kit.

Thank you for the advice! Not having to crack that motor open will also save me some time and money. I think I am going to just go for the SOS upgraded heat exchanger and their 3" pulley. I'm guesstimating that will get me over 350whp. I'm in WA as well. Are you with Intec or Speed Factory?

What do stock s2000's put down on that same dyno?

Assuming your running the smaller 1220 Novi blower, the 3" pulley will max that blower out at stock ap2 rpm limit and you should be seeing at or just over 400whp depending on the dyno. A 3.8" pulley/10psi will get you 350whp no problem. If you go with the smallest 3" pulley I would highly recommend the water/meth kit. If you had to pick one, id actually pick it over the large heat exchanger, but it would be best to have both for safety and best performance out of your engine/set up.

Im not with those guys, just a local with a good amount of s2k supercharging experience.

1220 at 6-7lbs typically makes around 300 on pump gas. But a Tune can make all the difference as well

I have an SOS 3.0” pulley for the N1220 and N1200 that I have no use for and will let it go for a good price shipped. Let me know if you’re interested.

I appreciate the offer soulicious! Unfortunately, I have the weaker Novi 1000.

Its damn near the same output expectation as the 1220, but yeah the pulleys are not compatible due to the different shaft size. The novi 1000 has a larger 7/8" shaft if I recall.

If you have E85 in your area, get a flex fuel setup. Though turbos see higher gains, E85 is still "free" hp if you have the injectors/pump to support it.
