i can't help but think that you get better response with air-liquid
Maybe, I heard that with the air to air on a CTSC setup, you loose more boost with the air to air cooler. The aftercooler provided with the CT setup doesnt loose as much

this is true because the piping is longer in an air-air setup than the stock air-water-air setup that the aftercooler provides. Although the stock comptech aftercooler is quite efficient, my setup is geared more towards on-track driving. Taking some information and research from the R&T subforum, many people have better success with an air-air setup because the air-water-air would eventually start to lose it's efficiency under heavy load for long periods of time (the liquid would eventually heat up, i think...?) I don't want to start a debate about this, since there are numerous threads about it, but both setups have their pro's and con's.

you lose more boost with an air-air but if you run high enough boost, you get to a point where you don't lose any due to the longer piping route. and it cools the air to lower temps. but the longer piping route = less throttle response. ive driven my car hard for 2 hours straight on the highway and my aftercooler was still ice cold to the touch afterwards. but if you're tracking, you aren't getting as much airfow to the radiator and you're generally at higher rpm, so you could heat the coolant to the point where the radiator isn't cooling it enough to make a difference. it all depends on what you're using the car for.

Ya, I was planning to go with a radiator any bit better than the comptech pos rad, and a bigger water pump and call it a day... well maybe some earls lines because the rubber hoses love to kink.
