Default CTSC w/AC 10psi with 550cc

Hey guys..

I am thinking of going 10psi...as I already have an aftermarket clutch. I am not one to rag on my car. This is more acceleration on the highway than anything else...

Question is ...will I need a headgasket for this amount of boost?

Input is welcomed..

thanks

Gus

Umm...there's no way the stock clutch will hold running that much boost. I would think that it would slip at WOT in the upper rpm range.

As far as injectors, I think the 550cc injectors should be enough to get you through 9psi though the 650's are marginally more expensive. Why not have a little headroom for extra cold days?

I agree, your going to have to upgrade your clutch. 550's should do the trick if you dont plan on going over 10psi.

What are you going to use to tune/control the injectors?

today as i left the tuner, i experienced clutch slippage for the first time. my max boost is 6psi and it slips on every shift, and also whenever i gun it anywhere above 4,000 rpm. i drove on a leaky master cylinder for ~9 months so my disc was probably prematurely wearing already, but even so i didn't expect it to go on the first shift with the SC

upgrade your clutch and go ahead and do the flywheel at the same time so you don't have to pay 2x for labor.

I am on the emanage blue. I want to up my boost since I am stock 5.5.

I am currently on a fairly new stock clutch hence why I dont want to change so soon.

Whats the most that my stock can handle? 7psi? If so, will I feel a difference in the upgraded injectors and 7psi?

thanks

550's are enough but the stock clutch prolly wont hold on for long might as well replace the clutch no so you wont have to remove the SC when you clutch goes out. jus doing yourself a favor replacing it now

I think the general consensus is 7psi is the max reccomended with the stock injectors. Just be carefull of your a/f readings if your running a testpipe/exhaust/header.

How do you like the emanage? it replaces the stock comptech ESM correct? Im currently looking for a tuning device that is a good combination for a s/c car running 9 or so lbs.

I had a stock clutch replaced about 3 years before I was running 10.8 lbs..

no launching but it does include a track day or 2....I had no slip no problems...If you are ever going to go higher/ or more hp go with the 650's im at 410hp / 14.5 lbs boost and still have a bit of room before i have to step up to 750's

In my opinion for keeping things under 10 psi..the emanage blue is great for the money..it does replace the ESM. I have neither thrown a code nor felt it bog down at all (*crosses fingers). My tuner did a great job of tuning the car where you dont feel vtec anymore..and its just power across the powerband...

I am have a T1R 70mm with test pipe and my a/f readings are just slightly above stock..(which is great with a just in case scenario with temp and everything).

Well it looks like I am going to have to upgrade injectors to 550cc and only go the 7psi route which I didnt want to.

I really dont want to upgrade my clutch right now since I just installed the supercharger but maybe down the road I will.
