Default Custom Oil Filter Relocation kit

Per the request of a local member I designed a oil filter relocation kit and I want to share what I did for those wanting/needing a custom installation. The pricing is less than Inline Pro’s, which I reguard as the gold standard, but it does use high quality Canton adapters like theirs. The biggest difference is in the mounting and filter. My system allows for the use of a larger GM oil filter rather than the factory Honda. Now Inline Pro mounts their system off of the front bolts on the head which will not work w/o modification on mine however I choose the same mounting location as the FullRace which is also very easy to access.

(1)......Block Oil Filter Adapter...........................90015-PH1-013.................$5

Total w/ Shipping.......................................... ..........................................$290

*Accepts GM Filters Recommend 1990’s V8 Camaro Filter which is MUCH larger than the factory’s

Installation Notes:

1.) Make 100% that you build oil pressure before starting up.
a.)Start by making sure the lines are hooked up so that the outside of the block adapter is the outside of the filter adapter and vise versa.
b.) Prime the motor before firing and make sure the oil pressure light goes off

2.) Tighten your AN fitting correctly
a.) Ensure that there are no kinks or preload in the oil lines
b.) Lightly lubricate the cone of the AN fitting
c.) For -10AN lines hand tighten the fitting then mark both sides of the fitting
d.) Tighen the fitting 1-1/4 to 1-3/4 flats or about 1/4 turn

3.) Use plenty of Loop Clamps (See www.mcmaster for details), sheilding.......to ensure the lines are not rubbing on anything

4.) Use a high quality pipe thread sealant such as ARP's or my favorite GM brand, avoid using tape

5.) The nut on the oil filter adapter on the block is quite large, avoid overtightening or you will break the block. If you do it will have to be removed and often cannot be welded.

6.) Use pliars with cushioned jaws to tighten the block adapter, it will seat at the transition ring.

7.) Lighly oil the oring/gasket on the block adapter to ensure you do not tear the seal when tightening.

8.) Leave all fitting hand tight until you have the system fitted and installed in the desired position.

9.) Remember to add appoximatly 1/2 to 1 extra quart of oil.

10.) The block adapter for the bolt that attaches to the block depending on how the Honda block adapter is cut may be a hair too long. I would check fitment first if the adapter will not tighten down easily remove it and grind down the Canton bolt a few millimeters. After grinding it is essential that you chamfer and smooth the end to prevent tearing the orings on the Canton adapter.

I did the same thing as you. It worked out nicely.
Only thing is if using a bottom mount log mani and medium/large size turbo, you will need to grind off a bit of the canton adapter that connects to the block. Its not a big deal, just do a little at a time until it fits.
Was using Ford filters for a 00' Contour, they were slightly bigger than OEM Honda.

Cool idea. That could have saved me some cash; I bought an InlinePro relo kit to replace my Greddy relo kit. (I could never get the Greddy hoses to stay unkinked.) I didn't like the idea of removing the OEM oil cooler, so I connected the InlinePro oil lines and remote filter mount to the Greddy adapter (which bolts to the oil cooler). The lines are the same size, so it works great.

How big of a filter can you mount at the stock oil filter location ?
Or are you limited by space so that is why you went to a remote filter.

I did pretty much the same thing. I just got all earl's fittings and 10 feet of earl's stainless line. I also go the canton block, but I ordered the part that inline pro sells that puts the filter near the head.

I'll be using this with my greddy oil cooler so I'm getting rid of the stock cooler.
