Thumbs down Detination w/ Test Pipe & Greddy Kit

Hey, because the Greddy Kit is tuned rather rich, how much damage could you do running a Test Pipe, & Cat-back with the Greddy Kit, limiting the boost to 8psi with a Boost Controller. Reason I ask is I am getting it tuned in April, but will be putting the kit on in the next week or so, so I would rather put the Test Pipe in now when I am doing all of the wor, but don't want to sacrifice the motor if ya know what I mean. What are the dangers of doing this without a Tune, is it detonation?, or Boost Spike <-----can that be cured with a Boost Controller?

I would leave the test pipe out and put it in right before you tune it. That's what I'm planning on doing.

it's not difficult to put the test pipe in later on.. just leave it off until you get it tuned..

IIRC, the greddy base map is tuned for a 80mm cat back with a stock cat.. what will you be running before the tune?

Your min boost will be determined by the WG spring, so even with the boost controller off you will probably be at 8psi. Although I think the tune is still rich enough to keep you out of detonation with a test pipe, that is a big risk to take. It would be easy to put in on later.
You can also drive awhile without ever going into boost if you have extreme self-discipline

If you get a test pipe get it retuned. Plus you will feel much better at least getting a professional to take a look at the map and make sure your a/f levels plus timing is on track.

Don't know for sure. The stock ECU will still pull timing if the knock sensor detects it, and the base tune has headroom, but I wouldn't chance it.
