Just because I plan on pushing the stock block, doesn't mean I can get info on a built block.

I dont think Laskey or Inline is a bad way to go. Both have good track records with F2x builds.

true but your higher cost plus the cost of shipping from one side of the country to the other will equate to an extra 1K in cost...

Hopefully I'll be getting the tubular conversion before I will need a new block.
I believe Laskey's prices include shipping. I know at least it does on the heads.

cost me 65$ to send a complete shortblock across the country. This was about 2 years ago though. I used DHL.

Like i said I have seen the engine builder for InlinePRO at work first hand. I spent an entire day there. I will not get an engine built elsewhere for how clean and anal Jeremy is. Let alone his knowledge for the F series engines.

Who manufacturers IP rods for them? Where is the steel from?

Rather than bump a several year old thread, just contact them and then post what you find.

Curious if IP keeps the factory oil squirters under the pistons to cool them. I'm facing a tough situation on that point. 5 yrs ago I had the block sleeved and as standard procedure the shop also removes & plugs the squirters (for better oil control). Given the option, I'd have preferred to leave them in there given what went down with Honda TSB-ing the 4-hole bolts from Europe (sustained high speed driving = more failures over there with the 2-hole bolts 2000-2001).

5 yrs after my rebuild, I have a shop install ID1000s to address fuel pooling / throttle transition issues. During the tuning session the engine begins knocking during their dyno tuning (4th gear pull). Teardown reveals pistons scuffed; shop thinks it's my tune / 5 yrs fault, rebuilds the motor, makes 20 pulls on their tune and motor begins knocking again. Now the question is cast at the builder for not installing the squirters on a sleeved block (theory being the steel sleeves conduct less heat from piston to water jacket than OEM's FRM cyls.) So my car's been down since January and I may be asked to pay for th second rebuild.

Anyone from IP, Golden Eagle or ERL have similar piston scuffing issues, resulting in low compression and knocking after a few Dynojet pulls (8+ sec from 3000-8400 RPM) and 1-2 minutes between pulls?

Wow. That's effed up to start with.

Let me start with, I'd blame the tuner because they should be able to keep the motor safe regardless.

That's just ridiculous. IMO keep the squirters though.
