Update for youtube video for startup / idle tuning.

Somehow I can't embed the video.

Great write up , have just used it to create a new base map as I'm going to start from scratch again for my rebuild (uprating the s/c from 10psi to 18psi, rebore with 9:1 pistons)

A query about changing the injectors .... would you not use the change injector flow wizzard first so the fuel table is rescaled to the new injectors?

A couple of very minor points ...
You can copy and paste load points into the Load Breakpoints table if required
Typo - "Go back and high light the 3.9Psi Load row from 4500 to 11000 and subtract 4psi" <-- should just be 4
It's a little unclear what you are subtracting from the timing map over 7psi ... I can see from the numbers easily enough though

It's also worth noting that you need to be careful changing the O2 rich / lean limits as I've noticed AEMTuner sometimes drops the minus sign

Cheers
Robert

I didn't know about the wizard \change injector/flowpressure option. It scales the fuel table correctly.

The fuel table values will be tuned based on O2 feedback. I'm more concern about getting the ignition values transferred over to the new base map. Can't tune ignition timing on the street. One assumption I made is there is one degree of retard per pound of boost. Example, at 10psi, I subtracted a timing of 10 from the 0 LOAD (PSIG) row, which is 23.4. So timing at 10 LOAD (PSIG) is ~13.4. This value is used to get street tuning started safely.

In summary, ignition timing under 0 LOAD(PSIG) is based off the AEM basemap. Ignition timing > 0 LOAD (PSIG) is tuned with the assumption that MBT is knock limited, therefore optimial/safe ignition timing = < 2.0 knock volts under boost.

Be Safe.

Ahh, yeah, obvious now

scroll down to the bottom of the first post. http://forum.aempower.com/forum/inde...c,23845.0.html

D/L mapscaler.zip Read the readme files. Takes some massaging to get it to work. I've done it before, but the webapp was the easiest to use.
