I wonder if its just as detrimental to beat on the car when its not fully warmed up, especially now in the winter the Turbo goes from ICE COLD to BALLS HOT in just a few minutes, that is a ton of stress

YOu know alot of the nice DEI Remote start/security systems will have turbo timers built in. So if you ever thought about doing a nice security system you can kill two birds with one stone.

Keep in mind that you'll have to ask your installer to hook up the activation input wire to a button in your car so you can easily activate the remote start before you shut down the car. That way you can activate the turbo timer mode without having to use the remote.

I personally have mine setup for a double pulse off the start button (requires a relay). But a (-) pulse from the VSA or Defrost switch will also work nicely.

or just get a dei unit for manual cars, and you can just hit a button on the dei remote to activate the turbo timer and keep the car running. no need to hook up to any button in the car from what i know

Thats what I have and Install. Yes you can hit a button on the remote. but its kind of a pain in the ass to jumble around with keyfob while its still in the ignition, especially if you have a few things on your keyring.

Thats why DEI remote starts come with an Activation input wire which allows you to activate the Turbo Timer by hitting a button in the car. It can be connected to any wire in the car which provides a ground signal when the button is pressed. (or a 12V signal if you use a relay to convert it to a neg signal)
