Does it feel a good bit faster than stock to you? How do highway pulls feel? Any 1/4 times or anything?

No 1/4 mile racing for me; strictly auto x or road race.

To me is drastically faster. And I don't mean that now all of a sudden I feel faster in a straight line than a McLaren F1. But when compared to how it drove stock for the first 4 years of its life, this is a huge difference. Full throttle through the first five gears is MUCH faster than it was in stock trim.

I just finished my install and setup this January. I have yet to get it to a dyno to find out just how much power I am laying down now, so, I can't tell you that at the moment.

Definitely get a ride in a SC'd S2000 as soon as you can. You will love it.

With my vortech car , it really takes off when vtec activates ( approx 6k ) . Ive taken several other na s2k owners for a ride and all of them loved it . Not one person has said it doesnt feel fast . Highway pulls are nice ! As far as 1/4 mile times , i only made one pass and that was no launch and just a simple clutch slip and i turned a 13.1 @ 109 . With a good launch a high 12 sec pass is very possible . Keep in mind though that i have a vortech kit and that runs more boost than a stock comptech unit . However im sure they feel alike .

OK sounds awesome. I still need to get a ride in a sc s2000, but I think even though I would rather more low end, I will go with a sc kit for reliability and all. Plus highway pulls are lots of fun.
The one I am looking at has an ultimate racing fmic. I know that it has a pressure drop when being used with a fmic. But will it actually lose power compared with a non aftercooled sc kit? Since the air will be cooler I would think that would help add power even if losing pressure. I would most likely get the 7 psi pulley anyways. Or higher once I get some injectors and all.
13.1 with no launch is awesome.
Someone is selling a comptech kit with ultimate racing fmic for 2500 which seems like a pretty awesome deal.

SuzukaBlueAP2, how much boost are you running?

I was refering to a out of the box vortec kit. which according to the boost guage didnt make any noticable increase of power until 6k. At 6k is when the car's boost guage began to register boost and peaked at 5.5psi @ 9k.

Was there a boost leak? I thought for certain Vortech's out-of-the-box kit started boosting sooner; maybe not.

Mine is the 4.0" pulley which makes about 7 psi. And my kit is after cooled.

My KW kit makes 5 psi @ 5000 rpms. Even it doesnt have the massive push you in the seat feeling as TQy turbo car would when the boost builds @ low rpm. Then again my KW kit builds power very linar and there is not more Vtec kick since it kicks in at 4300rpms. It just pulls strong to redline. No explosion of power. Just smooth powerful pull to redline.

The comptech 01 drove was a non-intercooled and didnt have a boost guage. But it was faster than stock. But by no means did it make you scream OH shit. It just felt 'faster'. IMO I would get an aftercooler so one could run more boost. non-intercooled is ok. IMO gears would be a better investment and cheaper to boot and probably provided more of a "feel" the OP is looking for than a non-ic CT kit.

The vortec i drove....Didnt even make boost until 6k. So that car felt like it had super-vtec. Definilty felt faster than stock. Hehe Vtec was lots of fun in that car, it felt like it lost power below vtec though. :/

So does the sc kit come with vtec? Or is it strictly rpm activated. Meaning if vtec is lowered will the sc come on sooner? Would assume the answer is no.
If I go with a non aftercooled kit. I would be getting a fmic.

in a belt driven s/c such as the comptech, vortech, kraftwerks, and even the SOT roots, boost is dictated by the pulley you are running

the stock comptech/vortech kits do not touch vtec; the kraftwerks kit for the ap2 v2 utilitizes a reflash that lowers vtec

if you want to lower vtec with a comptech/vortech/ roots s/c set up, you will have to use an emanage ultimate, AEM EMS, or K PRO

So is there any way to have boost come on sooner with a ctsc?
