Donut Gasket 3" Exhaust?
So I have the 3" downpipe off my turbo to a 2 bolt flange. Running a HKS 75mm single and about to get an Asura 3" TP.
My question is do I need a set up like the stock one with springs and a donut gasket. My thinking is that I would need some sort of shock absorbtion from the exhaust moving around, because I don't want the stress of movement transferred onto the turbo.
The exhaust is just hanging on the rubber hangers so once it's all fastened together the only thing totally restricting the exhaust's movement would be the downpipe bolted to the back of the turbo. It just doesn't seem good am I worrying too much or do I need something like a donut gasket and spring bolts from the test pipe to the downpipe to absorb motion?
