Here in Nebraska, it's harder to find a station without E85.

For a performance boosted car that's being pushed hard, E85 really is the way to go. It burns cooler, doesn't knock, spools turbos better, allows more timing, and keeps the pistons/combustion chambers cleaner (as in, it cleans all the carbon off!).

My S2000 isn't boosted, but I am converting it to E85 anyway. The gains won't be nearly the same, but it'll be good for hot track days. I converted my STi and SHO to E85 awhile back and would never go back to gas. If I had to, I would buy it by the barrel and pump it from home.

my only problem so far is my closest pump is about 1 hr away. i purchased a 55g drum and will soon purchase a nice pump for it to keep at home. you dont get great gas mileage so if you travel far you have to take a can with you. but to have a quality race style fuel at 3.30$ or so a gal is amazing.

as long as you have the fuel setup to carry it...

DAMN i wish i could somehow send you gas bro! i have 3 e85 stations within 5 miles of me and the price is currently 2.77 a gallon. this makes me realize how bad i should really convert.
Damn so lucky my nearest is 20 miles away closest after that is 45 miles away.

My closest station is 1 mile away. Ethanol content is 85-90% year round. Yeah baby!

I would get bigger injectors like ID 1000. Also the new Walbro 400 E85 fuel pump(make sure its the E85 version) would be a good idea too. If your car is 05 and under than stock fuel lines should be ok. If 06 and up then change it to a return fuel system. The Zeitronix ethanol content analyzer is also nice to have to monitor the ethanol percentage. Iv'e notice every E85 gas station has slightly different ethanol content also it changes every season. Just retune and up the boost and your good to go!

How long can you store E85 in that 55g drum? Will it go bad after a while?

I have talked to several different people and from what I gather e85 shouldnt stay in the car for more than 2 months or so. Sealed in a drum people have gone as long as a year.
