I do not understand, If he paid for the tune then the tune is his, not the tuner. The tuner probably does not know every car and map he creates because theoretically they are all different because of temp, type of car etc. All he has to do is change one number and it is not the same anyway. Besides, if the tuner is just loading generic maps then he is not really tuning the specific car.
i agree with you tha the tuner does not own the map he ultimately leaves on your car, but they dont just load a generic map and then say done. they load a good base map they have developed for your injectors, FI type and then tweak to fit with your car.

i remember talkign with mase when i was thinking of having him tune the car he said rather then tweak from where my map was, he would use his base map and then go from there. its easier to tune from there base map becuase they know all the options that are on/off, and where everything is starting.

I think if there is no such contract/written agreement between the tuner and the car owner "stating that the tune is a copyright for the tuner ... etc ... etc" then I do not think any harm would be done, and the tuner will not be able to sue any one

Then even if I get a base map from some one here, I should go to a tuner at the end of the day to retune some thing as every car is different, so tuners in this case did not loose ant thing .... it just makes us feel ok .... plus we are learning some thing .... again this is only an openion .... might be right and might be wrong

Without getting too much into the fact that if you share your map, you basically paid for whomever you give it to, to have their car tuned. You paid for the tune, why the hell do you want to share that info?

Now, if you do share a map, you better hope your tuner doesn't browse S2ki. If they see you shared a map, they can sue you, because maps are intellectual property of the tuner.
It's My map, I tuned it

I need some help here

I never touched an ECU in my life .... but now I have to do it myself .... I already got the boomslang harness .... how can I do the connection between the EMU and the stock ECU .... starting from the moment I swicth off the car battery .... to the stage where I connect it with the lap top .... can some one describe it to me in a simple and easy 101 way?

the discription in greddy "manuals" website is confusing me ....

With my Greddy kit all I did was disconect the battery.

Remove the Door sill

Remove the Seat (Not Necessary but helpful)

Remove the Kick panel

Remove the (2) 10mm bolts

Disconenct Harness from The Facory ECM

Install Boomslang harness between the Facory harness and ECM

Tuck Harness Behind Factory ECM

Route Wiring

Reinstall all factory parts

Reconect Battery

Connect USB Cable

Turn On Ignition (Don't Start)

Connect laptop to Emanage

Download Map to Emanage

Start the Car

First of all, without getting into a debate, yes, any car tuned by a tuner, the map is THEIR INTELLECTUAL property. Those that don't know what that means read a book.

Second, I wouldn't trust any tuner that doesn't make you sign a contract. Just a sign that he is an amateur.
