First of all, without getting into a debate, yes, any car tuned by a tuner, the map is THEIR INTELLECTUAL property. Those that don't know what that means read a book.

Second, I wouldn't trust any tuner that doesn't make you sign a contract. Just a sign that he is an amateur.
Unless the tuner takes steps to patent or copyright (not even sure which one a map would technically fall in IF any) the map, then it it is NOT their intellectual property in the eyes of the law.

With my Greddy kit all I did was disconect the battery.

Remove the Door sill

Remove the Seat (Not Necessary but helpful)

Remove the Kick panel

Remove the (2) 10mm bolts

Disconenct Harness from The Facory ECM

Install Boomslang harness between the Facory harness and ECM

Tuck Harness Behind Factory ECM

Route Wiring

Reinstall all factory parts

Reconect Battery

Connect USB Cable

Turn On Ignition (Don't Start)

Connect laptop to Emanage

Download Map to Emanage

Start the Car
Thanks a million

Done .... and tuning just started .... will post my results as soon as I go to the dyno

"You really think that just because you have an idea, it belongs to you?Your father, he helped give us the atomic bomb. Now what kind of world would it be today if he was as selfish as you?"

In any case, I am all for sharing, since I'm going to be the new owner of an emanage ultimate, but I'd like to know that I have some sort of support group to help me when needed and I don't always have to "pay" to get something done.

I am in 100% agreement that the net used to be where people could rely on like-minded individuals who were always willing to help each other for a common goal, but now it seems that every one and his/her dog is out to make a buck. This is evident on all the advertisement and what not. I'm not saying it's bad, because, yes, everyone needs to make a dollar; however, it was nice back in the day when I would go on honda-tech and there was always someone who could point me in the right direction without having to charge me! What's next, I'm walking down the street and I ask some random bloke for directions and I have to give him a dollar!

Moreover, if someone gives another person a map and that person then tries to sell it then yes, I do feel that this is a bit of a problem, where as if someone is giving a map simply to help out then I'm all for it!.

I doubt many of these tuner maps will be a perfect match loaded on another car.

Ultimately, you still have to re-tune and adjust the map to suit your car.

The maps are then a "starting point" from which to tune your car.

That is what most tuners do anyway. When you go to 2 different tuners, usually the last tune will be a variation of your current tune. No tuner in their right mind would start a map from scratch, unless of course that map is so flawed that you probably had to tow your car in.

It would be interesting to hear/read professional tuners' perspective on using one of their maps as a "base" map on someone else's car. I'd imagine there'd be some who say it's ok and some who would oppose.

Flashing/recalibrating stock ECU's (not on the S bcause it can't be done, but on other cars) , replacing ECU's with aftermarket standalones and modifying your engine & emissions on licensed road vehicles is highly illegal according to the Feds and some States so there's that to begin with so this whole tuning deal is illegal !

Wow, are you running the included 550 Injectors and factory FPR?

I don't have it now but my fuel map has much larger values. I will post when I get an opportunity.
