You can get Jet-Hot sterling on the manifold. It is definetly good for more than 1300*, that is only a guarentee to not tarnish or change color. My manifold looked great and so did the down pipe and dump tube, the turbine housing got a little darker in color but not bad. It definetly doesn't stay chrome looking but it does stay clean and silverish instead of nasty brown. Trust me, I had it on mine. Not only that but why would Jet-Hot themselves agree to put sterling on a turbo manifold if they thought it would fail?

Here is what it looked like brand new:

This is after some punishment:

See how brown the v-band clamp is compared to the Jet Hot coated parts?
Who knows?

I called both of these guys:

http://www.jet-hot.com/

http://www.powdercoater.com/jethot.html

And both people I talked with said the same thing. You can coat a turbo manifold in Sterling but eventually it will come off.

Just passing on what I was told. Maybe you know better

I havent done much other than an oil cooler right now...but i really need to do something cuz my coolant temp while cruising on the highway is around 205-220 degs... Much higher than what I'd like. I'm planning on getting a mugen thermostat, upgraded radiator and fans.

As far as a fan switch... I'm just going to use EMS to have the fans turn on at a much lower temperature rather than getting a switch...

oh and a vented hood would be a good idea, but the one that I want is stupid expensive so its smarter to do REAL cooling mods like the ones I said rather than getting a hood with some holes, lol
205-220 deg. on the expressway!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Are you sure about that? With my setup, I have everything stock(as far as cooling), with the exception of the fans coming on at 195 deg. and I am around 185-190 deg. on the expressway or even just driving around slowly. The fans don't even come on until I have been sitting at a light for a minute or so.

Yes

Says it clearly on my digital readout which is connected directly to the EMS. I'm seeing what the EMS sees

And about turning the AC on to cool the motor down... I thought you were supposed to turn on the heat on full blast to help cool the motor off... Wouldn't turning the AC on put more load on the motor and in a sense cause more heat??? I know that it Cools the air...but what about the added load?

What's the best turbo heat wrap and where to get it? I'd like to coat it, but I can't afford the downtime as it's my only car now.
