If you were @ ~90% IDC on 1000cc, you were in the 500s on power or the fuel pressure was falling...but it doesn't look like the map is overcompensating for that tho.

I have had mustangs read all over the place. Local one spits out 240 for intake & exhaust K20's... that dyno 190 over here.

Where was the tuner getting his boost numbers from?

And do you know what hp a stock s2000 or other good reference vehicle shows on that dyno?

I want to say he was getting his numbers from the AEM but I could be wrong. He could have reading them from my gauge, but I would hope not.

I do not have a reference vehicle.

I don't understand why some are saying after 400hp on 93 octane you're asking for a blown motor? If that were the case, everyone with the Kraftwerks kit or SOS stage 2 kit would be blowing stock motors left and right.

Also, please explain to me why this guy is running a 100% stock motor that has 701hp and it's just fine.

Look into getting a datalog. You may be able to get a complete story from all of this with some afr, knock, boost, ect readings.

Where do you get your fuel pressure reading from with out getting injector pulse interference?

Not having enough timing will melt pistons and valves down as well. The more boost and power you make, the window between a safe and good tune and a failed motor becomes smaller and smaller. Every tuner has their personal window of comfortability they are willing to reside in. 500whp+ on pump on this motor takes a very skilled well versed tuner. Most tuners will see a variety of cars in their shop and be able to tune many of them at a basic good working level and 1 or a few they know better and they will feel comfortable being more aggressive. The trick is finding the right tuner for your car and set up or you take more risk in their incompetence. Years ago when I was more trusting i had a tuner who was completely inept at tuning my car and ended up fuel washing the engine and within a week of driving it destroyed itself. He of course took no blame, so not only was i out many thousands for a replacement motor, but he kept the $450 for the tune. He acused my 10psi comptech sc was over boosting the motor and thats what caused the damage, so just goes to show you cant trust everyone who has made a name for themselves. He was quite successful tuning domestics and claimed he would have no issues tuning my set up. Boy was I wrong.

I think tuning is somewhat to blame here however , 500whp is not the brightest idea on pump gas . I don't think anything over 400-450 whp is safe on that piss fuel .

Pump fuel isn't all the same, any of us depending the State we reside in have 91, 92, 93 Oct. And there is a significant difference between all of them as far as how you would tune with them and the output results.
