Engine Management
Being an HKS Pro Dealer, we can offer the HKS F-Con V Pro but we rarely do. It is a great system, but as stated only HKS Pro Dealers are able to tune it. This is not ideal for most of our customers as they're typically in the USA. This is why we normally offer the AEM EMS with our turbo kits.
As stated, AEM EMS tuners are a dime a dozen. Last thing I want to do is have to fly to Texas to troubleshoot an F-CON'd S2000 if it doesn't start up one cold morning. The software is only available to Pro Dealers so I wouldn't even be able to give the customer a copy. Again, it is a GREAT system and very powerful. We only install them for *good* local customers.

Does that $1581 include the price of the EMS? If so, it's not that bad of a price.
Any car that comes in here for an EMS tune, I usually erase what's on there and start from scratch. So not sure if a basemap will save you any tuning time.

Yikes.
Well I guess they are charging you straight time. Figure 2 straight business days of tuning, with dyno. I guess I can see how that would add up. Still expensive though
As for keeping it for 1-2 days, that's not a bad idea. You can usually get the majority of tuning done in a day. The only things you can't simulate are a cold engine (and you only get one chance at that every half day) so having it touched up the 2nd day would be normal.

I'm doing my turbo project for my S2k at the mo and it will be tuned by Mase on his next return as he did my turbo ITR also when he last came over.
Crispy, have you try to contact Sumo Power? They are authorised HKS dealers and should be able to take care of you tuning wise but not sure they tuned many if any s2ks at all. Still the principle is all the same as long as they know the software well.

Living in UK; it is better the AEM for two things first is more common and second, the AEM is built in UK.
I know a good AEM tuner in UK he has work a lot with the AEM
[QUOTE=mark_m]Mase usually comes over once a year to tune a few Hondas but I can't find out if he's coming or not.
Group buy to import a tuner.
