If this doesnt fix the problem check that the cam gear is on correctly and the allen from the front of the head is all the way in instead of being stopped by the washer on the front not being in its grove.

Well all back together and sweet success!!

Here is a pic of all 8 of the old springs compared to the new ones..

New springs in and you can see that all of the VTEC rockers are now held up on both the intake and exhaust sides.

Sounds great. Gonna have to go for a drive and see how she runs.
Thanks to everybody.

Did you have different cams or aftermarket valve springs? I wonder what caused your lost motion springs to fail.

Not sure on this one, my car isn't back up yet but after 2 toast motors I'm not even sure I'm going to enjoy my car when it's back up.

Glad you found the problem. And glad it was an easy fix once you did.

Ian - I know the problem. I had so many problems with my car blowing headgaskets (a tuning problem) that I am so tense when I drive now and watching the temp gauge like a hawk. Takes me a while to unwind after.

Yeah I know what you guys mean, I think we all have been there. One motor, one short block and two diffs for me in 5 years. Trans is the only thing original left. Please get me through this season
