Smog is every two years. Don't need it until then, but I'd love to either have a functional EVAP or remove it.

Anyway to make it work?

After I installed my second turbo kit I have had that same fuel smell too.
I have no clue where it is coming from as my first turbo never did this. Asura, what is this EVAP system? Is it the one that routes to the air pump.
My car STINKS some times.

Yes its the black box/tank that is hanging where you remove the lower tie bar.

Ok,
Im a little confused after lookning at the HELMS.
If you install an EMS and take out the air pump in the bumper, how does this system get affected(EVAP).
Im glad this topic has come up as I could not figure out where the smell was coming from.

I don't think it is related to the air pump as I still have mine AND the smell.

Most likely the EMS doesn't have a feature for the EVAP purge. I am adding a manual switch.

Ahhhhhh..I see.
If you dont mind sharing this manual switch, I would greatly appreciate it.
Just like you, my car stinks inside the car like crazy. The only time it smells is when the windows are down...uggggggh.

Thanks

Guys, the Air pump is not related to the EVAP system.

A manual switch on the EVAP purge solenoid isn't going to be the majic fix at getting the EVAP system functional again. The entire system is more complicated than just turning the purge solenoid to "on".

The EMS isn't designed to control EVAP, the stock PCM is. The purge solenoid, two way valve and Fuel tank pressure sensor, Canister vent solenoid and bypass solenoid are all used during EVAP operation. There is no practical way to make the system work again, other than reinstalling the stock PCM.

So who else has this smell while using an EMS?
In other words, deal with it since we want a lot of HP's.

Slow, are you saying I have to deal with the stink?

No way to route the vacuum around it?

Old hot rods smell too. The chicks dig it. Buy some unleaded race gas for a better odor.

My 64 Barracuda will slosh fuel out of the gas cap on a hard right hand turn. It barely has a gasket on the fuel cap.
