Default Exhaust Manifold Crack Record Thread

Im looking to discuss about the cracking of manifolds, prevention designs,
favorable manifolds, anything else open topic to the discussion of manifold failures.
I know theres a few threads for this already, but I want to open this up as a customer
record of cracked manifolds so we can truly see which ones are going strong and which ones arent.
please do not be shy or feel stupid for posting- i think this will help us all with research

If your exhaust manifold has ever cracked,
Please post the following:

1. What kind of manifold is it
2. How long did you have it before it cracked
3. Where did it crack
4. Why do you think it cracked
5. What did you do to fix it and/or was it covered under warranty
6. Possible picture of it cracked

I'll start it off:

1. What kind of manifold is it: mase manifold (single scroll t3)

2. How long did you have it before it cracked: year and a half

3. Where did it crack: front runner and collector area all around it

4. Why do you think it cracked:
too much stress near front runner for this type of manifold placement

5. What did you do to fix it and/or was it covered under warranty: tried rewelding yet- I have yet to test it again, but because the mase ss metal is relatively thin, I think this manifold is toast. Mase covered half the cost of my weld expense

6. Possible picture of it cracked:

Here's mine. I'm still driving with it, but it will probably need to get fixed sometime soon.

1. What kind of manifold is it: Custom equal length top mount
2. How long did you have it before it cracked: Cracked within 6 months, got fixed, cracked again later (probably less than 5 k miles on the car)
3. Where did it crack: Cracked at the runners/collector and recently at the waste gate stub pipe to the flange
4. Why do you think it cracked: No purging on welds and not enough flex in the dump tube.
5. What did you do to fix it and/or was it covered under warranty: Took it to Pang (PFab) the first time to fix the runners/collector cracks, replacing with PFab manifold the second time.
6. Possible picture of it cracked: I may be able to post one later.

i really fell that all tubular manifolds will crack with the exception of full-race.

1. What kind of manifold is it MASE
2. How long did you have it before it cracked A few months
3. Where did it crack When runner one meets the collector
4. Why do you think it cracked dunno
5. What did you do to fix it and/or was it covered under warranty yes it was but it cracked again a month later. now mase is almost impossible to reach by phone or email. He has also stop production of his turbo kit and manifold years ago.
6. Possible picture of it cracked none

Yea, I think so too, but it would be good to know which ones truly last longer once we
gather everyones stories so we can see a correlation between designs and/or material used

wheres the spectacle? I know hes going to have something to add here with his nice build thread coming!

1. What kind of manifold is it: PFAB ELT topmount

2. How long did you have it before it cracked: less than a year

3. Where did it crack: collector welds

4. Why do you think it cracked: SS to steel t3 4 bolt flange

5. What did you do to fix it and/or was it covered under warranty: Rewelded it at my expense with better welding rod. Not covered under warranty by PFAB since I purchased off of Siadam but he barely used it (maybe 500 miles). Was offered a free repair by PFAB or a new manifold at nearly full pop.

6. Possible picture of it cracked: Will update shortly

yea, the full race pro street ram horn and the their sidewinder twinscroll definitely seem to be the #1 choice.

I wish they made a sidewinder t3 single scroll- i would've picked that up for sure
