Is this false advertising?

Default Is this false advertising?

I am saving to become boosted and have always wanted a CT SC w/ AC, however I am finding more and more reasons to look elsewhere for a SC or to look towards a turbo.

This is what Comptech's web site says about it's SC:
"you'll feel the burst of acceleration from the additional 95-110 horsepower at the rear wheels.... 340 to 355 horsepower at the crank."

The dyno results I have seen have been on this forum are in the 260-270 range at the wheels. That's just 60-70 more then I am putting down now and I am NA.

That seems to me to be a huge drop off, a big claim (I don't want to say lie), or an enormous amount of drive line loss. What have you guys found?

Most gain 90 to 100 HP.
I wouldn't call it false advertising.

Different dyno's give different numbers. Some brands rate a car higher, some will rate it lower. Dyno numbers change based on temp, elevation, humidity, etc. Different cars will dyno different as well. Just because one s2k got 90whp out of a kit doesn't mean someone else won't put down more or less.

Dyno's are just a general guide, something to help tune with, and for some bragging rights. But you'll never get the same numbers twice on a dyno (well rarely). Too many internal and external things effect the final numbers.

it can range on what the person does to the kit. what size pulley, aftercooler or no aftercooler, and if you use aem ems you get more pwr. i would advise it but it is depending on what kinda power you are looking for.

for instance the bigger pulley w/ no aftercooler and the emanage that comes with the kit... thats probably puttin down that 260 you saw, it might not even make that. but a comptech kit with a small pulley and an aftercooler with aem ems should make 350whp or more.

I was taking the information from the Comptech site and from a group buy over in that section.
I was just wondering. Seems like a lot of money to me for not a lot of increase.

If what you are looking for is more HP, then a turbo might be a better option.
If you have any good shops or good welders in your area, a turbo kit can be put together for not a whole lot.

If you track your car I would go SC first.
Just to play it safe

I use to track the car. Then we moved to Idaho and there are no tracks here. Now it's only autoX's.

I was just looking for some nice HP gains w/o spending a bunch of money. Guess that isn't going to happen no matter where I look.
