Default ferrea

just want to ask, has anyone here experienced interference with ferrea valvetrain? the retainers will contact the roller in the rocker.
the head in question was done recently by a well known cylinder head specialist. i assembled the head and went to adjust the valves. noticed when i looked close, no clearance between the roller and retainer. i checked, and with the rocker resting on the tip, no clearance. with the .009" feeler in there, i could just see some light, and measured .002" between roller and retainer.
well, i was alarmed and had the head builder come look. he said he hadnt seen this before. he spoke with ferrea over the last few days and they said, if you can see daylight, your OK. well, i dont like that, and neither does he. so hes been messing with it, and the manley retainers are shaped a tad different, and clear quite well. so at this point its a mystery. i wonder if most guys even check. i could have just adjusted the valves and let it roll. but i looked close, and noticed.
thats why im asking, has anyone else even looked? at this point, gonna be all ferrea with manley retainers. thanks ahead for any info. ill put this in tech section also, so it gets some coverage. late dave

I've got 1st hand experience with Ferrea valves and retainers using REV springs that bent valves from retainer to rocker contact.

All REV components solved the clearance issue. (springs, retainers, valves)

REV makes different retainers for the REV springs or stock springs. The retainers top contour and inside spring locater dimensions are different.

Alaniz has retainers that give clearances so as not to interfere. This is a long standing problem with Ti retainers.

looks as though we will be running all ferrea, with manley ti retainers. different design. lots of clearance, better seat pressure etc.

I have a complete Ferrea valvetrain (valves, dual springs & retainers), so this is VERY concerning to me. My mech just took my head apart due to some noise (turned out to be the damned TCT), so I will ask him about this.

Where's the best place to get Manley retainers?
