Default FI on '06 for $5000?

Hey guys I've been reading this forum for a while and always wanted a s2k with forced induction. We'll I have $5000 to spend on the engine (already have suspension, rims, bolt ons). I'd love to go turbo but since I'm on a budget I think S/C is my only option. I'm looking for around 300whp.

So my question is, what kit(s) can I go with for my '06 that will end up costing me $5000 or less after tune and everything? I wouldnt mind buying a used kit from the for sale section btw. And from what I understand, a stand alone ecu is required for MY06+ correct? I'd appreciate any info and I have searched but couldnt find the answers for my questions.

Thanks in advance.

With $5000 your only real option is to save more money.

Or wait until something complete and used for an 06 comes up. But you're going to have to wait a while for that.

Thanks for the advice.. question tho.. i've seen a handfull of used AP2 MY04-05 Comptech S/C's sell for about $3200 on the for sale section. If I bought one of these what additional part would I need to make it work on my 06? A greddy e-managment? thanks again

with $5000 you can easily pick up one of the used inline pro turbo kits selling on the board for under $3k, get yourself an AEM EMS, and be on your merry way to an easy 300rwhp. Then one day when you upgrade the fuel system you can have 400-500rwhp with ease.

I was under the impression that AEM currently does not make an EMS that is compatible with the '06-'07 cars, is that not true?

thank you so much for all the info, really cleared up a bunch of things... one more question tho.. is the inline pro kit as dependable as a comtech sc? I dont wanna worry about tunning it and checking for leaks and this and that after getting it tuned at a shop.. I'm under the impression that the comptech kit is pretty much a bolt and drive kit where as a turbo needs more maintinance. How's the inlinepro kit, does it require a lot of maintinance? thanks again guys. really appreciate it

Yes, the CT kit is just bolt on and go, for the most part. The problem is, the cost of the CT SC for an '06 is more than $5,000.
