did you fiqure out your engine noise sound?
A couple of things to do...in this order:
- check valve clearances
- check for metal particles in the drained oil
- pull the oil pan for bearing discoloration and bearing chunks in the pan
- save money for new parts
I'm thinking of adding (after some more research/reading) oil baffle and Accupump, and an oil pressure sensor that I've been thinking of gettign ever since I finished the project
I'll keep everyone posted!

Paul-
Yeah, I was following your other thread before you closed it. Sucks your motor might have eaten itself.
If you drain the oil, and drop the pan, that will DEFINITIVELY tell you whether its rod knock. Strain the oil through a cheese-cloth before dropping the pan.
Even though you drain the oil, if there are metal shavings, some will pool in the bottom of the pan, and will be really obvious.
I had some great pics of what it would look like, but I did not renew my membership, and I ended up losing all my stored photos as a result.
Once the pan is dropped, if you run your finger on the inside of it, you will be able to feel shavings, if there are any. They look like really tiny "twists" of metal.

Hopefully it's not rod knock.
I am very impressed by your numbers and the setup overall. It's so clean and beautifully done. Just great work from everyone that fabricated for your car.

Not yet Scott, I was just talking to my wife about working on it this weekend. It's been hectic and I haven't made time. I miss driving it.
I'm going to check the valves first as Kevin suggested and pray it was a loose valve. Next will be to pan the oil to look for bearing "gold"...
I'll keep this thread updated. Thanks for thinking of me.. in good ways
EDIT: Tomorrow is our wedding anniversary! I guess I have to wait until sunday night...
