Default First cracked stock FRM sleeve - BETTER PHOTOS INSIDE

I figured I'd share this with everyone since it's an event that I don't believe has happened yet. I tuned a stock F20C motor with inline pro stage 2 turbo kit on E85 and when turning up the boost to 20 psi, it fell on its face. A lot of smoke came out of the exhaust which smelled like coolant so I figured it was just a headgasket issue since the motor had 116k miles on it. This car has been through a couple owners and been turbo'd for a while so I'm guessing it was abused in the past. The car was making good clean healthy power up until this point. After pulling the head, the problem was obvious....a small crack on the top of the cylinder wall. The crack is only on the sealing surface and does not go down the frm sleeve. This has to be the first. There was no detonation or any sign of tuning or electrical error in the car. I was told that this car had a 3mm hg in the past, and was put back to a stock hg, so who knows what happened during that process.

New photos that show much better detail. This is definitely not cracked! A cover up before the car was sold? Yup!

The first dyno chart shows the final tunes at 11, 14, and 18 psi. The next one is the first pull at 20 psi which shows it falling on its face.

It looks like a rough crack as if there was some foul play prior to this kid owning the car. Definitely doesn't look like a normal crack.

That looks more like a gouge than a crack, they are quite fine lines when the sleeves crack. Someone was messing around in there and scratched the surface, now the block is scrap unless sleeved.

I agreed with Neeman. Looks like someone damaged the sleeve.
