Fidanza aluminum flywheel has replaceable friction surfaces that bolt to the disk. OEM steel flywheel is not resurfaceable by turning the face down on a lathe, it's too thin or something. Aftermarket steel units may or may not be resurfaced, depending on each manufacturer's specs.

My question is will the aluminum flywheel for example the Fidanza flywheel break under load for FI application? Also, how heavy is our OEM Flywheel? Also, I heard the Aluminum Flywheel is weaker even though Toda and Comptech are steel and can't be refaced??

who told you they broke theirs?

I have never heard of an aluminum flywheel breaking apart any more than a steel one. Either way, the chances of it happening are slim to none. I would personally go with the Fidanza or Clutchmasters unit. I have used a fidanza flywheel on a Boosted B16 with zero problems ever and Clutchmasters is a VERY reputable company when it comes to driveline parts. I have only ever used them for clutches other than stock (except for that one centerforce clutch, we wont talk about that one) with zero problems.

I have a Competition Clutch's flywheel (rebadged Fidanza) on mine with no chatter at all. Didn't affect my driving at all really...at least not as much as the puck clutch itself did.

I ask soo many questions becuase I don't wnat to be in the end saying wish i stayed stock or finding out it broke in my tranny I AM A PARANOID FELLOW AS MOST OF YOU CAN TELL...But when you modding a car your parents bought you and except to run for a long time I can't mess up...And please don't make comments about parents buying kids cars cause if MOST everyone could get the chance they would and I PAY FOR ALL MY MODS! Thanks for the help in advance...

Another thing- many people have noticed increased noise from the clutch with a lightweight flywheel. Switching back to the stock flywheel made things a bit more bearable on mine.

My opinion is stick with the Comptech, stock unit, or toda if you want realiability. They are soild pieces of metal. That Fidanza has a LOT of screws in it that can potentially come loose.

I have the Comptech flywheel and a lighten SPEC Stage 2, it took a little getting used to. Since I sometimes drive in heavy traffic the car doesn't seem to take off the line as easily as with the heavier oem flywheel/clutch combo.
