If you go too light it kills the inertia of the flywheel. A lightened flywheel is great if you maintain high revs constantly, but it will also drop rpm too fast if you are driving at low rpms. A heavier will build inertia quicker, but the added weight the engine will struggle at higher rpms. So realistically for the street you want to find a good balance between the two.

I went with the act prolite and have had no issues with mine. I think its 8 lbs just be on the gas after shifting. I do think a lighter flywheel will cause more clutch buzz with some clutches but I never had any with my act street disc.

IMHO, the lighter flywheel makes the car more fun to drive. I do tend to stall it once in a while......very race car like.

I'm running a Comptech flywheel at about 8-1/2 lbs on my supercharged AP-1. Dramatic difference from the AP-1 flywheel at 14 lbs.

I agree. I prefer lighter. I have run the 14lb ap1 on my f22 and it’s an improvement, feels proper like what the f22 SHOULD have came with, but I currently have the Act pro light on these days. 8.3lb. it’s a really fine quality piece of machining. Love the way the motor response with it. Will never go back.
