Default FMU install help

I purchased a used comptech kit. The kit had a AEM FPR but no FMU. Can I purchase a 8:1 rise FMU to increase fuel pressure? Wont the FPR regulate the increased pressure from the FMU?
Thanks for your help.

The Comptech kit comes with a Rising Rate FPR to replace the stock one. The AEM is just the same as stock so not good for your install.

One of two options:
1) Install a Vortech FMU downstream of your FPR. It will increase your fuel pressure with boost like the Comptech one. I happen to have one for spare BTW.

2) Bigger injectors and some method of tuning like the AEM EMS or Emanage Ultimate.

OK, so I should replace the AEM FPR with the OEM and install the vortech FMU to increase the fuel pressure. Does the OEM fuel presure regulator need to be drilled out?

I'd go with the Comptech FPR. (Specifically for an Ap2). They are a nice improvement over the VT ones. Being able to externally adjust the fuel pressure delivery is a huge bonus for tuning, really a necessity that the VT ones don't have.

No you do not drill it out, you simply unbolt it from your fuel rail. You will not use this in junction with the VT or CT fpr.

I decided to go with this unit,

its a FPR and FMU in one. It bolts up to the fuel rail where the stock FPR mounts. You can adjust idle fuel pressure and the rising rate ratio from 1:1 up to 12:1.

Cool, I always prefer more adjustability options

As long as you understand what you are adjusting
