S2000 Forced Induction S2000 Turbocharging and S2000 supercharging, for that extra kick.

Is FORCED INDUCTION right for me?

If you're not interested in popping the hood and checking stuff out - should you even be driving the S? The manual even states that you should check your oil at ever gas fill up.

The Vortech is no harder to setup than the CT other than the oil pan thing which isn't that big of a deal. The kit is much cheaper too as you can find them used for just over 3K.

As for being able to handle it, the car will be slower to 4k - a tad faster from 4k - 5500, and 6k-7500 will definitely make you feel something. 7500+ is where you'll feel the biggest difference.

As for a properly setup turbo car - if you don't want to mess with it just make sure you don't ride in anyone's car who already has one. Once you do, the mere thought of the SC will be a thing of the past

I'm not worried about the power. because even boosted, it will probably feel the same if not slower than my e46 m3. I'm just worried about maintaining it. I don't really want to have to always open my hood to check to make sure everything is ok. I don't have a mechanic with me 24/7 to tune this and tune that to make sure its running ok

It seems like many of the ppl I know that went turbo are constantly worrying about their turbo running right. Seems like they always had problems with it.

ps. If you check one of the comptech threads, many ppl made less than 275 hp to the wheels with the comptech.
And there is almost a thread everyday of someones Supercharger leaking oil

Both forms will have problems, there is no way to get around that. However, 95% of the time, people with turbo problems is because of the TUNER NOT the turbo kit. Get a good tuner, like I have, and you'll be problem free for thousands upon thousands of miles...

I'm just a little disappointed in the lack of torque for daily driving. Especially in this hot Texas weather with the AC pumping, the car feels even slower. The car does feel great however at high rpms though .
If its torque you want, a SC isn't going to help to much as it makes all its power / torque top end where you won't even feel the extra torque.

Turbos make the power down low all the way to redline, you sure as HELL feel the instant torque push at 4k rpms vs 8500rpms or w/e peak torque occurs with the SC.

Well, the added hp + some extra torque should fill my needs .

Have you looked at the new jackson racing "rotrex" supercharger? Don't get me wrong. I love turbo setups, but I've had a few friends that always had problems getting the car to run correctly. I know a good installer/tuner should make it run right, but there aren't any where I live .

I went with a Vortech because it boosts a little higher stock then a comptech.I got a dyno a couple months ago and got 310whp(dynojet).I put over 17k miles on my charger and haven't had any problems.btw i should be faster then your E46.

Yeah, the E46 is cool and all but I (or any other FI S2k) would absolutely slaughter one.

it'd be like racing a 91 civic with only 2 cylinders running

Most of the MY00-01 with the Comptech SC/AC dyno from 277-287 RWHP, with the MY02-03 cars making closer to 300 RWHP. 265 RWHP sounds more like the cars don't have the aftercooler (or are on a stingy dyno ).

I only open my hood when I get gas (to check the oil level). The Comptech SC/AC is as reliable as a stone (just like the rest of the car).
If reliablity is your only concern then I think you should go for it.

The reliability of PD blowers (like the JR) is as yet unproven on the S2000, but if you're finding that the car lacks torque, a centrifigual blower won't help you much, because you still have to rev the engine to make power. The S2000 will remain an "inertia car," which suits me to a tee, but may not float your boat.

LOL, the cheapest way to get more power is to run the car to redline before every shift.
