By contrast, my stock 405hp (crank) '02 Z06 Vette will break loose in 1st, 2nd or 3rd once it comes up on cam. It's running 285's but the shocks are shot, so my guess is that the Koni's were doing a lot to keep my S under control. That, and the SC boost doesn't all hit at once like a turbo does.

The other day, I had the Z06 wide open in 3rd merging onto the highway. It was fine until it got close to 5k rpm and then - BAM - broke loose, completely lost traction. The stability control / traction control intervened, and kept me from going into a concrete wall... Makes me really miss the way my S2000 handled the power - that sort of thing never happened, and I never felt I needed the electronic nannies.

my buddy had a cammed z06 with 430whp, his would lite up 1,2,3 easy lol. TQ, its a helluva thing.

Try a zr1! You'll have it sideways in 4th easily.

I hate mine.

s/c power band is generally way different, they are much more linear/gradual makes it easier to get traction

Depends on the condition, temperature, etc of your tires too. With my S/C setup and old Star Specs, I got wheel spin in 3rd.

I'll say this. A lot of people on the Internet like to brag about "not having traction" like its some type of glorious thing. Not having traction sucks. Making power is only as useful as you can put it down. Breaking loose at highway speeds is dangerous and not fun (if you're somewhat of an adult).
