Default Fuel problem with GReddy turbo kit

Hey guys, I had the GReddy turbo kit installed on my car a few months back and I'm fairly satisfied with the performance gain for the money that I spent. The kit came with a Walbro fuel pump upgrade, which was installed at the time of the turbo install.

When I get to about the 1/3 fuel tank level I notice a slight hesitation right around 6000RPM under full throttle. As the fuel level gets lower, the hesitation gets worse until its a full-blown hiccup (1 second of no power). I haven't let the tank get to less than 1/4, so not sure how bad it would get.

My first step was going to be replacing the fuel filter... but it seems that for some reason there is no external fuel filter on the S2000. Wow, that's a first for me.

Any suggestions?

Yeah, you shouldn't have used the aftermarket sock on the fuel pump. Swap to the OEM sock and your problems will go away.

OK, I didn't do the install, so not sure what they did... but that seems like a reasonable assumption. Do you know if the GReddy installation manual indicates to use the Walbro sock or the OEM sock?

I'd imagine the manual doesn't specify. The OEM sized sock is the only one to use. Take it back to the guy who did it and make him fix it. If he knew a lot about boosting an s2k he should have known better!

You can search and find a lot of information on this and print it out for him too.

Hehe... the shop that did it just evaporated last week. I'll be doing it in my garage, hopefully the factory fuel pump is in the box of leftovers.
