Default fuel pump cut off going down interstate...

it was the craziest thing. i was driving the s2k making sure that the new freeze plug is gonna hold up before i take it back to the dealer. i had the cruise control on and rolling at 85mph. AFR was good, water temp was good, and i wasnt in boost. the fuel pump hadnt shown any issues before. the unit is a brand new walbro 255lph.

well, i sat on the side of interstate for a few minutes checking fuses and looking for problems, my FPR gauge was sitting at zero. when i turned the key on, the pump wasnt turning on ( and you can EASILY hear a walbro fire up ). but luckily a young guy in an old integra showed up and had towing straps and he pulled my S to the nearest gas station on the next exit. by the time i got there.... somehow my fuel pump decided to cut back on and the car cranked... but now the pump is reading 40psi instead of the 60psi it used to sit at. on the way home, the pump acted up for half a second and then started working again... so idk whats going on. has anyone else had this issue with an s2k? i feel like i remember someone saying something about running new power wires to walbro fuel pumps for some reason. im gonna continue searching for answers but anyone with suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I ran a separate relay to my 255, It sounded much healthier during priming and while driving, I believe SPEC OPS made a write up on how it benefitted his walbro.

Sounds like a faulty wiring or bad connection to me.

^^^ I agree. Check the wires into the top of the gas tank and if need be, check the actual wires in the fuel pump. If you are going that far, might as well wire in a fuel pump relay.

thanks for the info and link. ill check that tomorrow as soon as i get daylight again. i only used the original wiring so this might really help it out. i was wondering at first if maybe the fuel pump over heated bc i let the fuel level go down to 2 bars.... who knows.
