Default Gears + Boost

I was "out" with some friends this weekend on my race tune(500whp)

All of the cars were 500whp+

I held my own no problem, but my biggest complaint was shifting.

I would pull people, but b/c I have to shift umpteen times they always gain in between.

Also having a powerband from 4500-8500 does me little good when I shift @ 8500 and drop down to ~6ish...

W/o getting into a custom gear set in the tranny, is it possible to lower the FD in the rear end to alleviate some of these issues, or am I just out of luck.

Yes, I've talked to S2KPUDDYDAD about reducing the gears down to a 3.90 and it's possible.

just save up money and buy a whole new rear end. and have the 3.90 gears installed while doing that

it will be cheaper in the long run

soul coughing has a 3.9 from puddydad; he likes it a lot.

He also has a f20c tranny paired with a f22c which helps him stay in gear longer

I actually like the stock gears a lot, I guess since my engine goes to 9100 it makes the situation a little bit better but maybe 3.90's wouldnt be so bad.

You can get better than that, my goal is top speed so others may not like to go this low.

Ratios you can have....3.63, 3.90, (stock 4.10) 4.44, 4.56, 4.57. 4.77, and 4.88

All by the bad@ss himself Puddy
