Default godspeed turbo kit

Anyone here have/had this kit? If so, how is the "whole" turbo kit holding up? How many miles does/did it have? I'm mainly concerned about the turbo manifold after seeing the greddy turbo manifold crack so many times in the FS threads. The reason why I'm comparing it to the greddy turbo mainfold is because they look the same. Lol. I'm pretty sure the other parts will hold, though. I think..

I chose 2 of the 3 words out of the most popular phrase around here. "Cheap, reliable, OR powerful". Obviously I chose cheap and reliable. In any case, I've driven a 600+whp Supra, 400+whp evo, couple of 240sx's with sr20det swaps (ranging from 200-350whp), etc.. I haven't driven a supercharged yet but rode in a civic si with an sc kit. SC isn't my taste. Well to sum it up. I'm not going for BIG horse power here. My goal is simply 8 psi for dd and 14 psi for racing. Which should be around 350whp-400whp for racing and 270ish whp for dd.

My question is, will the Godspeed turbo kit be good enough for what I'm looking for? Again, I know how a 600whp turbo car feels like lol. And yes, I've driven it more than once. It's waaaay to powerful for me. I felt comfortable with the evo even though it's awd. TIA.

edit: I'm not going to push 14 psi until I lower cr to 9:1 by rebuilding the motor and that will be 2 or 3 years later down the road. I'm going for a reliable set up on a decent budget.

why are you building the motor if you are only shooting for 400 hp?... save the money from the engine build, and put it to a better turbo kit and you will hit 400 easily on a stock motor with almost no issues.. just my .02

uhhh... turbonetics turbo isn't good enough? or the whole kit isn't good enough? do you have any first hand experience with this kit? like i said, i'm going for a conservative point of view. something that will last for a looong time and something that i can keep driving like i stole it. thanks anyways.

I have no first hand on the godspeed kit, but I know it would be a waste of money to rebuild the motor if your hp goals are only 350-400, unless the motor is shot.. 9:1 will lower your compression substantially, which in turn will lower low-mid range torque, it would be sluggish till high rpm's. But I also know people have had good and bad reviews on the godspeed kit. log style mani's are very restrictive, and tend to break.. in the long run, you may decide that you should have just bought a better turbo kit (AKA Inline pro, Ptuning, Mase, etc.. all are a bit pricey, but they are reliable and you would NOT need to build the motor..

^hmmmm. some of the mani's from ptuning and inline pro have log style mani's so those will tend to break right? i know eventually everything will break but the longtivity is what matters to me the most. so given that, rev hard mani (used in godspeed kit) isn't inline with the others solemnly due to price or something?

Honestly Rev Hards is probably just as good, your just not paying for the name with rev hard... All im trying to suggest is other options, but if this is the route you plan to take: godspeed+9:1 motor, then I hope it works for you! personally I just prefer non-log style kits, and mine has done well so far. Mine is basically a custom sidewinder kit, pieced together with other good parts.

And if anyone else has some first hand info, or other opinions, speak up! help the man!

thanks sfrost!

this is why i don't wanna jump the gun and get this kit right away lol. i just need a very good ground before purchase. my mechanic (600whp supra onwer) told me to ask the forums before purchasing this kit. he does trust in turbonetics and manifold. but the other parts such as waste gate, blow off valve, he's not to sure on. lol

cmon guys hook me up with some first hand experience!

Suggestions on the other parts:

Waste gate: Tial 38mm (perfect for your HP goals)
BOV: Tial (cant remember the name but I plan to use it, I use the HKS SSQV for now)
Precision Intercooler (durable, highly used on s2000's, relatively inexpensive)

hope that helps you some..

Remember, no fuel management with the godspeed kit. you'd want a fuel pump, bigger injectors, and a tuning solution. That's going to add $$.

FI is not a place to go cheap on this car.
