Default Greddy dyno before and after Berks CAT

My MY2000 (130,000 miles) car was tuned at Ptuning in Virginia last December with a 2.5" Ultimate Racing Hiflow Cat mated to the 2.5" Ultimate Racing Dual exhaust with 2004 Oval tips and produced the following result with snow tires.

I bought the Berks Hiflow cat after getting tired of my constant cat CEL code, and had it retuned on Saturday. The new Cat increased my boost a little over 1psi and fixed my CEL. This is my boost graph:

This is my torque graph:

Not all of the gain was from the cat because my snow tires were slipping on the dyno when I got the 251, but the boost definitely went up and gives me a solid 9 - 10psi as you can see. In addition it was about 25 degrees in the dyno chamber last December. PTuning pulls the air in from outside into a sealed chamber and blow it over the car using ginormous fans. Then they took it out on the road with a laptop and road tuned it for another hour. It was about 65 last Saturday. Lots of variables, but the bottom line is this is a great CAT!

JoeyBalls had his Ap2 tuned on this dyno, but his Ap2 stock would probably put down 25whp over my Ap1 stock given the current age of my car. My car does 183 stock on a dynojet and would do 170 or so on Ptuning's dyno if not lower. This accounts for the majority of the difference in the top end.

To complete this story, my orginal tune was done in 35 degree temps with my stock S02s in November. This image shows the famous "dip"

Toan, the Ptuning tuner, tells me he is planning on experimenting with a Greddy turboed s2k they use for time attack runs by installing the new AEM meth injection kit on it. He is not sure what kind of numbers they will get, but will keep me informed on its effectiveness with the Greddy kit. Looking forward to that.

Mods that matter:
Berks 2.5" CAT
Ultimate Racing 2.5" Dual Exhaust with 2004 Oval tips
Greddy E01 Electronic Boost Controller
Denso Iridium IK24 Spark Plugs gapped to 0.028.
Rick's 4.56 gears
ACT Clutch and Flywheel
Greddy Type RS Blow Off Valve

Other Mods
Mugen 31.8mm front sway bar
Stoptech slotted rotors
Stoptech stainless steel braided brake lines
Ricks Original 1 piece X Brace

Next Mod I am considering:
AEM Universal Meth/Water Injection kit

Graphs look really good and Ptuning seems to do a great job tuning these things.

I have a hard time understanding how everyone is spiking. I have a 2.5" test pipe, and a 2.5" exhaust, and my boost stays welded at 7.5psi.

Another confusing thing....I have seen AP1 dynos on the STOCK basemap with STOCK everything (cat and exhaust) and the car pulled damn near 300whp. What gives?

Yup. I will test it again just to make sure, but my tru boost, according to my friend who was staring at the gauge, said it was a peak of 7.5

okay let me know.. I'm asking because prior to adjusting the wastegate actuator, i'd peak at 7.5 at 4k rpms or so but it would drop down to 5.5 psi by redline

Last year he moved the vtec up to 6700 to help get rid of the dip you can see in one of the graphs above, but that wound up causing a driveability issue when trying to go wot in 1st and 2nd gear. It felt like hitting rev limiter but at 6k+ instead of 9k. When I went back on Saturday and described the issue he immediately knew he needed to find a better vtec transition point and so he set it down to 6500 rpm. Its a night and day difference now and I can launch from dead stop and row thru the gears aggressively all the way to 6th and never feel a hitch, delay or sputter all day long. Acceleration is smooth as butter in every gear.

The dip he fixed by increasing the vtec point is still gone, even with the lower setting. It's not easy tuning these things properly that's for sure.
