hey guys, just a thought me and scott(9kfever) had tonight while workin on my car.

I am still running the stock map sensor and boosting 12psi.
Also, my tuner could not figure out why when increasing boost he could not see any more whp gains, only tq while it was on the dyno.

Since the stock map sensor is good only to 10psi or so, you think that is my problem? Should I only run 10psi if I am running stock map sensor?

Well I still saw gains on my dyno creeping to 12.4psi. That said I did run past an old post by MASE1 stating that boosting past 10psi with the stock map is a big no no.

Get the Greddy pressure sensor if you are still running the E manage ultimate.

I'm going to have to get one also since my car is running like CRAPP because my stock map sensor is now almost dead..

Hmmm i just checked out the hondata also..
I wonder if you need to do a special voltage calibration to use that with the E manage Ultimate...

I don't know actually.

Besides the stock map being a problem, do you guys think that my injectors are limiting me at all? 550's ok for 12psi? Thanks guys!

Possibly, but more importantly do not run more boost than your MAP sensor can read. What happens is there is more air flowing into your motor than your ECU can see due to the stock map sensor. You can bump up the boost all you want (VERY DANGEROUS) in hopes of making more power but your ECU WON'T add any extra fuel or adjust timing.

Who is your tuner? I'm curious why he is allowing you to run more boost than your stock map can read. He should have warned you about that.

Jon at HBSpeed.

I emailed him about the issuse and he says that it does not make a difference.

So you guys would advise running an aftermarket map sensor, do I need to retune?

Can anyone confirm if I run the AEM Meth Kit with the smallest nozzle and get it on a dyno to see AFR's if I will be safe for a lil while until I can get it tuned..........

I will also be adding a HFC.

If all I am doing is "upping the Octane" and seriously cooling the charge why would I need a retune, (other then yielding more power) I dont want this for power necessarily , more for safety........

joey why can't you just call your tuner? shouldn't he know? just turn down boost and drive to your tuner
