Gt2860rs Disco Potato
Spinning VERY quickly..... I believe if I'm not mistaking that some sylivia guys make up to 350hp on the 28RS, however I know MANY that only make 280-300. Still thats a great increase considering when I've driven those cars I've felt almost NO lag, it was incredible to feel the TQ increase.
I guess it comes down to what you can get away with as far as compression ratio goes. In any case your lowered and safe now so that's the path. The S15 I drove who my friend owns had stock compression which is probably closer to what you have now and he was making somewhere in the 285whp range if I remember right. The S2000 motor might be a different deal better or worse IDK, Id like to guess better. I think your on a reasonable track though at least to shoot for 300.

EDIT>> Here's a 28RS google search.
* Displacement range: 1.7-2.7L
* Output Range 250-320 horsepower.
* Compressor Wheel Diameters

My first turbo car ever was my 240sx with sr20det t25 turbo.
I just loved it how it was quick to make the tail loose and go sideways.
Then i wanted to go fast so I switched it to T74 turbo(forgot what brand)
but that setup took forever to spool in (almost 6k rpm)
It was fun on Highways and quater mile strip (11.6 on street tires)
Now the turbo I have on my S is fun, but I really miss the setup that spools in quickly. If I want fast speed I can always go for a ride with James D. and his crazy GT30 setup

The GT28RS will work out great as long as you dont too much boost with it because the compressor and turbine are going to be working really hard after 7k once your in vtec and the engine is wanting more air. If I was you I would be short-shifting at like 7500 or 8000 ( assuming F20 ) because this turbo is going to fall on its face for the most part after 8k, it just wont have the compressor or turbine flow to keep up at those rpms.
that was my fear, however I'm curious as to how the math works out. The fact that it can make 350hp on at least SOME S15's means it is capable one way or the other. I would wonder if it would indeed make peak HP prior to red line, I wouldn't be surprised to see that be the case, or at least it won't make any MORE power and it would flat line out after 7K or so.
I wonder how many psi it can push then. With flow capable of 300-350hp I'd assume it would have to make 8psi or more at redline in the F20/22c. If thats the case he'll be in the 300hp zone he's looking for even without a headgasket. Now since he has the 3mm hes down to near 9:1. With that said he'll need about 2psi EXTRA to make up for that loss of compression. So were looking at realistically 10psi to hit his mark. I'm curious if the 28RS is capable of that flow.
anyone?

you guys got me pumped up now, and can't wait till ill do the switch.
Its going to take a while, since ill have to get diffrent downpipe for it
and with my speed its going to take me a while.
