Thumbs up Guages for a Turbo

I sold my guages and pilar pod, I will get some new, guages, my limit is 4 I do not want more. I was thinking in this one:

Oil pressure
Water Temp
A/F Ratio
Boost

Since I have a wideband with A/F ratio, I would have to relocated to a place where I can read it, i can avoid A/f Ratio gauges and use oil Temp, making the new combination
like this

Oil Pressure
Water Temp
Oil Temp
Boost

I do not know is oil temp is very important having the oil pressure which i think more important.

Any advise would be accepted

I would invest in a wide band setup, and avoid a standard narrow band A/F guage. Although the dancing light is nice your not getting a true reading of your A/F mixture. Below is what I would consider to be necessary on a boosted setup.

oil temp
boost
wide band (if you have this guage you won't need an EGT)

The water temp guage would be a nice addition but not necessary IMO. Definately consider the wide band as your first choice.

Goodluck!

If you have the money, you should get a Wide Band, Boost, Oil gauge. But if you are short in cash then

4 most important gauges are

Boost gauge
EGT gauge
A/F ratio guage
Oil Pressure gauge

leave the Water and Oil temp out. Not as important as the those 4 above.

Yup that's what it is. If you install one, I recommend the first runner in your exhaust manifold. That is the best place to get accurate readings from the cyclinders. I have seen it in the downpipe, but I personally feel that that gives the exhaust a little time to cool before getting metered.

Not exactly. It's a common misconception. But you make a good point, if your AF is good than your EGT should be good right? Well what about timing? You can make a lean running car have good EGTs by retarding the timing. Like wise you can have a car that shows good EGTs but is running pig rich because of too much timing advance. That's why I recommend both AF and EGT. If you know you have good AF, then you can use the EGT to adjust timing.
