Have a few questions about turbo install
I've had my car for about 4 years now and I think it's time to give my baby a little "boost," so my car will be undergoing a greddy turbo install near the year's end. I had a couple questions that maybe you guys could help me out with instead of me bothering the sponsors with countless questions back and forth.
Let me start out by saying that I've searched and researched a lot over the course of the year and there are some questions that I couldn't really find answered.
My goals are for a daily driven, reliable setup, with the option to run low boost and high boost.
My setup will be as followed:
Greddy turbo kit
BOV already welded on
AEM EMS series 2
Hondata MAP sensor
Megan 63mm test pipe
T1R 63mm dual exhaust
Autometer single guage pod
AEM serial guage
AEM oil pressure sensor
walbro 255
boost solenoid
turbo timer (haven't decided on one yet)
heat wrap over a/c lines
1: Boost solenoid and being able to control it via toggle switch (aem ems):
First, just to make sure, I can control the boost even if the greddy has an internal wastegate? Just install boost solenoid and it should work as with other turbo kits?
Second, Will I just need any toggle switch to control for hi/low boost via aem ems? Do I just connect the ground to ground, then the other wire, 12v to pin D11(spare switch input) of the wire harness? [So only 2 wires total, no need for relay, right?]Then setup the function in the ems software?
2: T-fitting regarding oil sensor:
Will I need to buy a T-fitting for an oil pressure sensor? I have the 1/8 npt to 1/8 bpst fitting for fitting the oil pressure sensor onto the greddy oil relocation block but it may be that I also need this T-fitting for something else?
3: 63mm exhaust setup vs 70mm exhaust
Will my 63mm test pipe/exhaust be fine with my setup? While researching, I came up with 2 different scenarios. If it were a 70mm setup, I'd get boost spike, but is the 63mm setup really that much more restrictive since greddy's setup was with an 80mm exhaust(w/ stock cat)? By setup, I mean test pipe and cat back.
Which is the truly optimal to run?
4: Wideband needed for tuning?
So I know that the series 2 does not come with wideband. My question is will I need this option when my tuner has a wideband that he will tune with? I most likely won't be doing any of the tuning myself. It seems the serial guage will show me my a/f ratio as well, right?
For Reference, AEM EMS installation manual:

I'm sure I will have more questions to ask regarding my turbo kit install so I'll keep updating this thread as more questions come to my mind. This will be my first car with a turbo!
-Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks and Happy Holidays!
