Default having a few problems

hey fellas,
i just got finished installing my lovefab gt3071r kit. i also installed a 2mm head gasket and arp head studs. when i started setting up the ems today; i cranked the car up to set the ignition timing. at idle there is a tapping noise coming from the head/valvetrain. when i reinstalled the the head and valvetrain i reset everything to tdc and torqued everything to spec.

questions:

1. i'm wandering whether or not the s may need a valve adjustment or if it could be the timing chain tensioner or if anyone had any other clues ?

2. when setting the timing on the ems is it normal for the number not to go up and down when retarding or advancing on the computer ?

is there a chance you pulled out the Lost Motion springs and didn't put them back in?

if its a SLIGHT tap, it could just be installing the head with the thicker gasket and causing the timing chain to make noise. get a new tensioner and make sure everything is set back like stock.

if the lost motion springs were removed, and weren't put back in, the motor would sound REALLY REALY violent, almost as if it were about to blow.

i would just check timing chain issues

by the description it does sound like the tensioner could be the cause of the tapping. only reason i wonder is because it never made this tapping before. i'll check into getting one anyway. better safe than sorry.
