Default Head Gasket

Blew head gasket on dyno, and was wondering which headgasket to run, trying to keep stock head gasket but heard theres companies that make stronger head gaskets that are stock..Car is a 2.4L (NOT A BC KIT) so the compression with the setup and stock head gasket is about 10:1. Thanks for the help guys!

it's odd that you blew an oem HG.

are you sure the block and head are straight? did you follow the correct tq sequence when tightening the head bolts? are you using new oem bolts or arp head studs?

Is this a bored over block?
I've heard of them having head gasket issues.

this is the "frankenstein block" build is as follows (not done by me)
2.4L F24C
TSX crankshaft and H22 pistons and connecting rods
stock top end except BC stage 3 cams
GT28rs
They made it a 2.4 without touching the cylinder walls. The setup as it is is about 10:1 compression on a 2.4L with stock f20c head gasket

It seems like its the headgasket, but could be rings as well. We were getting alot of oil vapor through the crank case, and it was filled with nasty oil (smelled like gas), and it was a milky texture.
Also, my compression check was absolute shit. This is what it is now
Cylinder #
1) 90
2)130
3)80
4)190
I did not build this motor so I am not 100% sure if everything was tq to specs. Though the company who did this also did the first I-vtec on an s2k, so im assuming everything was top notch. Ripping head off tonight or tomorrow to see what the malfunction is. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

lol..the turbo is a beast! its a drift car though..on 8psi it hit 320hp 360tq . full boost at 3200 RPM! ...the car could benifit from a bigger turbo but for what I need its a perfect setup. At 22psi it kept spinning the dyno, so we lowered it down to 18psi and then the dipstick shot straight out of the motor. so then we shut the car off and went to start it back up and poof, smoke coming from the oil catch can. F***. Anyother question i had, ive been hearing these horror stories about running pump gas, everything from blown turbo's to fried piston rings. Fact or fiction? Thanks for the help guys, and how do i post pics (newbie)

There's nothing wrong with pump gas and you can get it anywhere so don't start thinking C16 is the answer to your problems.

You're using a very small turbo on an engine that breathes very well even at 2L. At 2.4 I bet it's an absolute air pump. So to make 22 psi (or 18 even) on an F24C is well out of the efficiency graph of a GT28. I expect it was mostly producing heat rather than pressure.

So, hot charge air is the problem. Leads straight to detonation. I'm guessing cracked rings.

The solution is a bigger turbo. I'd say a GT35 would do the trick but still spool nice and early.
