Heat Shielding Use with PTuning Turbo Kit?
I 've been reading that people with various turbo kits that have not been using a heat shield on their exhaust manifold, turbo exhaust housing, etc. Have been experience high under hood temps which lead to melting of plastic pieces in the engine bay.
Currently in the middle of doing the install of the PTuning kit, I have been back and forth debating if I need to use heat shielding because of how low the turbo the sits in the engine bay plus the kit comes with a heat shield

Recently looking at s2000442's avatar and reading up on MisMyS's PTuning review thread as seen here:

I realized that maybe I should purchase at least a heat shield for the exhaust manifold and turbo exhaust housing.
Here are some questions that I have:

I am guessing that this is ATP's Inconel heat shield.

Can I only purchase this shield directly from ATP? Or do they have other dealers?
I'd like to also get this shield for the GTX 3076R exhaust housing
Do I need to send in to ATP or a dealer, the turbo and manifold to get them custom fitted?
The pics below are showing a rubber type shield over the coolant hoses going to and from the turbo.

Where can I buy these? What are they called?
What size are needed for the PTuning kit coolant turbo hoses?
In the pic below you can see that the external wastegate pipe sits a little to close for comfort (at least for me) to the frame.

Are any of you guys running the PTuning kit using a heat shield wrap to remedy this?
Are you worried about the paint peeling?
In the pic below you can see heat shielding over electrical wiring loom.

Where is the best place to buy these? Are they one size fits all?
Is that something I can install without sliding over the wiring loom?

heat shielding your turbo components is a terrific idea and is well worth the investment.
you save your plastic and hoses under the hood from having a heat stroke and you hold a lot the heat in the turbine area where it is actually beneficial to performance. the more heat you can store in the down-pipe/ manifold, the better. ever hear of "afterburners"?

Sent you a pm. The dump tube looks close and it is but there is enough room so that it does not touch the frame. The beauty of the kit is that it sits low so there is plenty of airflow underneath car to keep things relatively cool. I would not worry so much about the dump tube shielding. I would shield the downpipe if you wanted to go all out but the manifold and turbo is a good start. I have always been a fan of shielding these parts. Some guys like the wrap and blankets but I like the clean look of these shields and they are bulletproof. No need to change a blanket because it is disintegrating because eventually they will. It would be a pain to install a blanket on this setup once installed. Everyone has their own opinions but the extra cost to do it once and only once is worth it to me.
You will have to send the manifold in to get it wrapped but I can assure you it is worth it. If you want to take the next step doing the turbine housing would not be bad either. Some of the pieces are a waste of money in my opinion but like Daryl mentioned if you have the extra cash it can't hurt either.
The insulation coming from the coolant lines on the turbo are Silicone Coated Fire Sleeves and you can get them at Race part Solutions (See below) I am pretty sure I used ¾”. Then used Stainless steel zipties available at Lowes to tie them off.

The other heat wrap I used was standard Foil coated ThermoSleeve. I use it here and there to help from rubbing and keep the heat off the lines. That photo you reference was of the oil lines running from the pan back to the front of the car.

BEFORE you wrap a manifold or downpipe, get it ceramic coated, then it won't rust and it'll also keep the heat INSIDE the pipe rather than heating the pipe causing cracks and wasting energy. Do your hotside of the turbo as well. Faster spool, more hp, less heat, less cracking, wins all over the place!
Not a good idea with this manifold because it will void the ptuning warranty, they have said as much in a thread. Not a fan of the coatings but they have there place, and are better than nothing if they do not flake.
i just used the heat shield that came with the ptuning kit and it has been working fine for me. nothing melted even when we had those 100 degree days here last summer here in the northeast. if you are planning on tracking it then I can see it being necessary but their metal heat shield does a great job imo.
