I've heard of the starter motor putting out enough torque to break it easily.
Is the vehicle still drivable? If so, you can take it to a shop, pay them like 10 bucks to take the bolt off with an impact and snug it back up, then drive back home. Then you should be able to remove it at home.
Crank pulleys on F20Cs are notoriously hard to get off. With the engine in the car you can't get to it with an impact gun and a short breaker bar has nowhere near the leverage required for the stubborn ones.
I made a crank pulley tool:

And used a 19mm socket on a breaker bar.

But that wasn't the whole story. I had to use a length of steel pipe about two foot long on the end of it and yank with all my strength and not inconsiderable weight to break it loose.
