Help Getting FID 1000cc Injectors to Fit
Edit: This is the recommended fix from FID -
Hey guys, I'm getting close to an end (about time ) with my build but have run into a small issue with my injectors.
The top of the injector seats perfectly inside the fuel rail, but the bottom is too large to fit inside the intake manifold. I've tried using the O-Rings from the stock injectors and it made no difference. We also tried lubing the O-Rings with oil to try sliding them in, which briefly worked prior to the injector shooting itself out of the manifold later on when we had our backs turned lol.
I vaguely seem to remember that there's some sort of a trick getting ID1000cc+ injectors to fit into the stock intake manifold, but haven't been able to find anymore information through my searches. If anyone has any advice or pointers I'd really appreciate it (I'm assuming a thinner O-Ring would be the best/easiest solution. Can I get those anywhere?)
The seals are very tight, we normally put them halfway on the lower bung on the injector and then install them into the manifold. We also have some customers who don't use the lower oring, and put some rtv on the lower bung and use that to seal against the manifold. We are going to find a way to make this better.
I apologize that they are giving you issues, we don't want that.

A quick search found these posts but they are for ID injectors. I would believe it's similar to your injectors. Also what model year are you? It's different for 2000-2005 and 2006-2009.

If I remove the lower cushion all together and just let the injector sit against the hard plastic lower seal it almost fits in perfectly (small amount of wiggle room) but I'm thinking even that small amount of movement will lead to leaks in the future.
Edit: My car is a 2001

Bumping this back up as I still haven't found a solution and also haven't received a response from FID yet.
Edit: Got a response from FID. This is their recommendation -
